On December 11, 2025, a probation violation warrant was issued for the arrest of LACRESHA DYONNE NELSON [DOB REDACTED] in Hennepin County District Court file ••-CR-••-••••. Nelson failed to report to the workhouse as directed on her conviction for threats of violence. Nelson threatened to stab people with a knife and lit a fire in an apartment hallway with a blowtorch. On January 21, 2026, officers were sent to Listening House at 421 7th Street East, St. Paul, Ramsey County on a woman who had threatened to blow up the building.
Officers spoke to staff members MAA and SIB. They said Nelson had been in the female bathroom for about 45 minutes. Staff told Nelson she had to exit the bathroom because there was a line. Staff explained they regularly check the bathrooms to avoid overdoses. Nelson became upset and poured paint thinner on the floor as she walked to the main exit. Nelson said she was going to blow up the building. Nelson produced a small blow torch. Staff intervened, and Nelson lit the torch as staff approached. Staff unsuccessfully tried to get the torch away from Nelson who then left the building.
Staff identified Nelson as the suspect because she had ot sign in before entering the shelter. Officers arrested Nelson in the area. Staff cleaned up the liquid that Nelson poured on the floor and rugs. Surveillance video showed Nelson exited the restroom and spilled liquid from a container onto the ground as she walked towards the exit. Officers found a 32-ounce container of Formby’s Furniture Workshop Paint and Poly Remover in a trash can near the south entrance. The liquid paint remover is flammable.
