Gerald Michael Griffin III

On January 19, 2026, approximately around 6:22 A.M., Minneapolis Police Department Officers were dispatched on reports of a burglary to a business located at the 3500 block of Lake Street East in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Dispatch also advised responding officers that the male suspect was wearing a black jacket and black pants and was laying on the floor. Upon arrival, Officers located the male suspect and placed him under arrest. The male suspect was identified as GERALD MICHAEL GRIFFIN [DOB REDACTED] "Defendant" herein.

Officers searched the Defendant and located a cell phone, box of bullet heads, a hard drive, a headlamp and two pocket knives along with keys to a work truck. A known adult male, "Witness" herein, confirmed the keys were to his work truck. Also on the Defendant's person was two flashlights and a multitool. The Defendant was transported to the Hennepin County Jail. Upon further investigation, officers obtained store surveillance footage. Surveillance footage shows the Defendant entering the business through the rear door and remaining inside the building until law enforcement arrived.

The total value of stolen merchandise from the business on Defendant's person is $1,400.00. At present, Defendant is in custody.
