On May 20, 2025, at approximately 12:37 P.M., Loss Prevention Staff at Von Maur, Rosedale Center, 1595 Highway 36 West, Roseville, County of Ramsey, observed a female-later identified as CHRISTINA MARIE DOTY, [DOB REDACTED]-select two purses, and go into a dressing room. DOTY then selected two items of clothing and purchased them. DOTY did not pay for the two handbags selected, and exited the store. Police were notified, responded, and met DOTY in the parking lot of Rosedale Center. DOTY was arrested and escorted to the Von Maur office.
DOTY and a purse she carried were searched. Inside the purse, there were multiple articles of stolen Von Maur merchandise. A commercial magnet was also found in DOTY’s purse. These magnets are commonly used to remove anti-theft sensors on merchandise. Later, at the LEC, one additional item of clothing was recovered from DOTY under her shirt. The total value of the stolen merchandise is $954.00. After a Miranda advisory, DOTY spoke to an investigator. DOTY admitted stealing merchandise from Von Maur.
In court file 27-CR-21-2373, DOTY was convicted of Receiving Stolen Property, felony conviction 2/24/21.
