On March 13, 2026, a Metro Transit Police Department Officer observed a male, later identified as Zachary Pintozzi [DOB REDACTED], "Defendant" herein, complete a drug sale inside the north elevator lobby at the Lightrail Lake Street Station in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers continued watching video of the area, during which they observed Defendant preparing and separating suspected drugs into smaller portions for sale. An unidentified male then hands Defendant cash, which Defendant accepts before the male takes the suspected narcotics from Defendant.
Defendant then boarded a lightrail train and is observed placing the suspected drugs into his hat. When Defendant was stopped by officer(s), Defendant’s hat was searched and officer(s) located a plastic baggie continuing a white substance in the hat. Two $5 bills were also located, folded together. While being transported to the Hennepin County Jail, Defendant denied selling drugs, and that the other person took his drugs without his consent. Defendant also noted that he received two $5 bills from the other person.
The white substance recovered from Defendant’s hat field tested positive as fentanyl and weighed approximately 0.16 gram without packaging. Defendant has prior convictions for 4th degree drug sale in court file number 70-CR-11-13172 and for 5th degree drug possession in court file number 70-CR-10-22819. Defendant is currently in custody.
