On March 31, 2025, at 4:51 A.M., officers responded to a concerned citizen call reporting that a trailer (the "trailer" or the "first trailer") had just been stolen from the parking lot of an apartment complex located on 97th St. W. In the City of Bloomington, County of Hennepin. The reporting party observed two males in ski masks quickly hook up a green SUV to the trailer and drive out of the parking lot and down the road at a fast and dangerous speed. The reporting party identified the vehicle for some time, and then State Patrol followed the vehicle on camera.
Officers knew that a pickup truck had reported stolen from the same parking lot one day earlier, March 30, 2026. Officers stopped the green SUV on Hwy 13 near Pilot Knob Road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as MARCO ANTONIO GARCIA-SOLANO [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Garcia-Solano herein. The sole passenger was TREVOR JOE BORSETH [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Borseth herein. The stolen trailer was still attached to the vehicle. Officers contacted the listed owner of the stolen trailer, Victim One, and confirmed the trailer belonged to him, and that no one had permission to take it.
The value of the trailer was $500.00, and the value of its contents was $600.00, for a total of $1,100.00. Defendant Garcia-Solano told officers they were bringing the trailer to a friend's house located in St. Paul. Officers went to the St. Paul address and discovered a second black trailer (the "second trailer"). Post-MIRANDA Defendant Borseth stated: • That he had picked up the first trailer from the apartment because its owner had been deported. • That he had received that information from people at the apartment complex. • That he had taken the second trailer to the St. Paul house for safekeeping. • That he had acquired the pickup truck stolen from the parking lot the day prior. • That the stolen truck would be located at a house near Lyndale Ave.
S. Officers located the stolen truck at the house near Lyndale Ave. S. Officers contacted the owner of the stolen truck, Victim Two. Victim Two confirmed that he owned the pickup truck, that he owned the second trailer, and that he did not give anyone permission to take the truck out of the parking lot of the apartment complex.
