On November 21, 2025, Edina Police Officers responded to a theft report at Vineyard Vines store in the Southdale Center, 10 Southdale Center, Edina, Hennepin County. Vinyard Vines employee N. J. Reported that he observed a female leaving the store with merchandise that was not paid for. Officers located the female, later identified as CHRISTINE CELESTE BURTMAN, Defendant herein, in the Abercrombie and Fitch store. Officers stopped the Defendant who was carrying several bags of merchandise that she could not produce receipts for.
Inside the Defendant's bags was $278.40 in Vinyard Vine merchandise, $373.00 in Macy's merchandise, $160.00 in Abercrombie and Fitch merchandise, and $67.00 in Dry Goods store merchandise. The total value of the merchandise confirmed by the stores and surveillance to be stolen is $878.40. The Defendant has prior qualifying convictions to enhance this case to a felony. The Defendant was also in possession of a pair of wire cutters. The State requests this complaint issue as a warrant. The Defendant was convicted of a Theft in case file ••-CR-••-•••• where she was ordered on December 18, 2024, to "Stay away from/out of Jewelry stores and all shopping malls, Department Stores, large retail stores." as a condition of probation.
