On November 23, 2025, officers with the Edina Police Department responded to the Fairview Southdale Hospital (“the Hospital”) located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] South in Edina, Hennepin County, Minnesota, on report of a person on scene who had previously been trespassed. Officers were notified that the person’s name was Joe Darrell Edwards Jr. [DOB REDACTED] (“Defendant”). Defendant was asked to leave by Hospital security, but had refused. Officers found that Defendant was actively trespassed from the Hospital until April 27, 2026. Officers located Defendant in the Hospital and arrested him.
Defendant was transported to the Hennepin County Jail whereby he went through booking procedures. In Defendant’s left sock, officers recovered two rolled bindles. Each bindle contained a white crystal-like substance. Officers informed intake deputies that they would be submitting additional charges. Defendant stated: “What charges? It’s just 5th degree drugs.” The contents of one of the bindles field tested positive for Amphetamine and weighed 0.33-grams. Amphetamine is a schedule-II controlled substance.
Defendant is presently in-custody in the Hennepin County City Hall. Therefore, a warrant is requested to ensure Defendant’s appearance.
