On 06/17/2025, at about 1744 hours, St. Paul Police initiated a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle that they found parked at a gas pump at [ADDRESS REDACTED] N (BP gas station) in St. Paul, Ramsey County. The driver was identified as Nia Miikaeaadizi LUMBAR [DOB REDACTED]. In the rear passenger seat was a male identified as Matthew Floyd GREY [DOB REDACTED]. Outside the vehicle, operating the gas pump, was a male identified as Christopher Joe FLIER ([DOB REDACTED]. All three were detained. During a post-Miranda interview, GREY said that he and FLIER were picked up by LUMBAR who drove them to BP. GREY said he suspected the vehicle was stolen.
After he was Mirandized, FLIER said he was at a friend’s house when LUMBAR arrived driving the vehicle. He asked LUMBAR for a ride and rode in the front passenger seat when driving to BP. FLIER said he suspected that the vehicle was stolen. Police arrested all three. Police then conducted searches incident to arrest and searched the vehicle. In addition to controlled substances recovered from GREY’s person, police found a backpack in the backseat of the vehicle. GREY said it belonged to him. In the backpack, police found a jar containing a substance that later tested positive for fentanyl (net weight.08 grams) and a plastic bag containing 15 pills that later tested positive for fentanyl (net weight 7.03) grams.
In addition to controlled substances recovered from FLIER’s person, police recovered a plastic zip top bag from the front passenger floorboard where FLIER had been sitting. It contained a white crystalline substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine with a net weight of 7.66 grams.
