On or about 3/30/2026 at about 830 PM Officers with the Minneapolis police department responded to a gone on arrival domestic on the 1800 Block of Portland Ave in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the victim [NAME REDACTED] was assaulted by her boyfriend Terrance Markee Jones, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, who was gone on arrival of officers. She stated that she and Defendant were in a verbal argument because she had left the apartment while he was asleep, and he was accusing her of sleeping around, victim [NAME REDACTED] attitude that made Defendant upset.
Defendant then struck Victim in the face with his right hand and a closed fist. When victim tried to hit him back Defendant grabbed her throat with his right hand and squeezed, victim [NAME REDACTED] was unable to breath and her throat hurt after the fact. This event occurred in victim's bedroom and while Defendant’s hand was on her throat he was pushing her head into the bed. Victim had attempted to call 911, but Defendant hung the phone up during the physical altercation preventing victim [NAME REDACTED]. On 3/31/2026 Officers responded back to the same address.
The Victim had utilized the text to 911 system and texted that the Defendant had returned to the building. While the Officers were not able to make phone contact with the Victim while on scene a woman spoke to Officers from an open window on a higher level of the building indicating to Officers where to locate the Defendant. The Defendant was located and arrested. During the arrest, without prompting, the Defendant stated that he did not do anything to the victim, he did not touch her and stated he is on probation.
The Defendant is in custody on this charge and a probation violation. The Defendant has two pending Misdemeanor domestic cases, with at least one involving the same victim in court cases 27-CR-26-5187 and 27-CR-25-31757.
