On February 5, 2026, at approximately 12:10 A.M., Wright County Deputy Olufson was on routine patrol, operating a marked squad, when he observed a red Chevrolet Cruze bearing OK plate #[PLATE REDACTED] parked at the Holiday Gas Station at [ADDRESS REDACTED] East in Monticello, Wright County, Minnesota. The vehicle was parked in between a parking spot, with its driver's half in a standard spot, and its passenger half in a handicap spot. Dep. Olufson approached the driver, later identified through OK driver's license as Leah Desiree Duncan, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the defendant.
Other deputies on scene observed that there was an open bottle of tequila in the backseat of the vehicle. A vehicle search was conducted and a methamphetamine pipe appearing to contain more than 0.25 grams of substance was found in the defendant's purse. The defendant denied knowing that the pipe was in her purse. During a preliminary search of the defendant, Dep. Olufson located a zip top baggie containing 9 green pills which the defendant claimed was prescription Xanax, which was verified. A female deputy performed a more thorough search of her person, and found that the defendant had a capsule containing a white crystal substance stuffed in her bra suspected to be methamphetamine.
The defendant stated that was all that she had on her and understood that bringing more into the jail would be an additional charge. The defendant was transported to the Wright County Jail and transferred to jail staff. Jail staff advised that the defendant had an additional glass jar in her bra which contained a white crystal substance. The white crystal substances field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed a total of 1.47 grams.
