On January 19, 2026, at approximately 6:32 P.M., Wright County Deputy Mason Reed, was dispatched to an agency assist at Brady’s Auto Repair, [ADDRESS REDACTED], Delano, Wright County, Minnesota. Minnetrista Police Department requested that a Wright County Deputy follow up with a Kayla Lynn Carlson, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the defendant, regarding a possible court order violation as well as possible suicidal remarks she had reportedly made earlier in the day. Upon arrival at that location, Dep.
Reed spoke with the defendant regarding the possible suicidal comments. She stated that she was not suicidal and had not made any remarks to indicate that she was suicidal. Minnetrista Officer Patrick Johnson arrived on scene and asked the defendant if he could provide her with a ride back to Minnetrista Police Department for further questions regarding the possible court order violation. The defendant agreed and Officer Johnson requested to search her person prior to placing her into the back of his squad car, which she agreed.
While searching the defendant's person, Officer Johnson removed a ziploc bag with a crystal-like substance consistent with Methamphetamine. A field test indicated a positive result for Methamphetamine. A glass pipe with residue was also removed from the defendant’s person. At the Wright County Sheriffs Office, the substance was weighed at.11 grams and tested positive for Methamphetamine. A criminal history check revealed a previous conviction of fifth degree drug possession on 6/12/2020.
