On October 24, 2025, the Minneapolis Police Report received the report of a theft. The reporting party was identified as a manager at the McDonald’s at [ADDRESS REDACTED] E, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The manager reported that an employee, KENVELL MALIK OVELL BUCHANAN, [DOB redacted], “Defendant” herein, had stolen money from the restaurant safe. It was reported that the theft occurred during the night shift October 23 into the morning of the 24th. Surveillance footage captured the Defendant using a key and code to access the business safe at approximately 12:08 A.M. And removing cash.
The Defendant remained on s*** to cover a co-worker’s break then clocked out early at approximately 12:27 A.M. The amount of cash taken from the safe was approximately $1,559.00. The State is requesting a warrant to protect the Victim business. Additionally, the Defendant has an active bench warrant in ••-CR-••-•••• for failure to appear at a hearing and the State does not believe he will voluntarily appear on these charges.
