On October 7, 2025, officers of the Minneapolis Police Department were made aware that LAMONT MAURICE TOWNSELL ([DOB REDACTED]), DEFENDANT herein, who is a Level 3 Predatory Offender under state law, was placed in non-compliant status by the BCA due to his verification letter being returned by the US Postal Service from his address of record of 45xx South 35th Ave, city of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers made contact with the apartment manager responsible for DEFENDANT’s address, WITNESS [NAME REDACTED], who stated that DEFENDANT had resided at the residence earlier in the year but had not been observed for several months.
On November 12, 2025, officers learned that DEFENDANT had been arrested by the Bloomington Police Department. In a post-Miranda interview, DEFENDANT stated he occasionally lived at the South 35th Avenue address but that he also occasionally resided with his sister, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], city of St. Paul. DEFENDANT also admitted that he has resided in numerous other locations not registered per statute during 2025. DEFENDANT is required to register as Level 3 Predatory Offender for life by virtue of a 2010 conviction for Criminal Sexual Conduct 2, ••-CR-••-••••. DEFENDANT acknowledged the requirement to register and his obligation to timely update any changes of residence in BCA documentation signed and initialed by DEFENDNAT on 3/8/2025. DEFENDANT is not presently in custody and his present whereabout are unknown.
The State requests a Complaint Warrant issue.
