On May 9, 2025, at approximately 12:04 A.M., Coon Rapids Officer Tombers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle for expired tabs in the area of Egret Boulevard NW and Eagle Street NW in Coon Rapids, Anoka County, MN. Officers identified the driver as ANTHONY CHEO HICKERSON-TAYLOR [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. While speaking with Defendant, officers observed a glass container in a gray bag on the passenger seat that contained marijuana. Inside the gray backpack on the passenger seat, officers found two sandwich-sized plastic bags containing a crystal-like substance, a glass bubble pipe with residue, a smaller plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance, and a glass container containing what appeared to be hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Defendant was placed under arrest. Three of the items were sent to the Midwest Regional Forensic Laboratory for testing. Item 1 tested positive for 1.735 grams of dimethyl sulfone, which is not a controlled substance. Item 2 contained 2.025 grams of methamphetamine. Item 3 contained 0.380 grams of psilocyn. Defendant is not in custody. The State is requesting a complaint summons.
