On or about March 28, 2026, Wayzata police officers were dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED], Wayzata, Hennepin County, Minnesota, on a report of a domestic assault. While enroute, notes said BRIANNA LYNN HARRIS [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein, was drunk and fighting her mother, “Victim” herein. Police arrived and made contact with the victim [NAME REDACTED]. The victim said that when Defendant got home that evening, she could tell Defendant was intoxicated. Defendant started to call her a b**** and attacked her, bit her in the hand, and started strangling her.
The victim [NAME REDACTED] on her neck, which appeared consistent with a strangulation. Police also observed marks on her hand, arm, and face. The victim [NAME REDACTED] on her back when Defendant was on top of her, and Defendant placed both her hands around Victim's neck and throat. Defendant placed all of her weight on her neck and she could not breathe. Defendant also started striking her in the face with both hands using closed fists. While at the scene, the victim told police that it hurt to swallow.
She was checked out by paramedics. Police also made contact with defendant, and Defendant smelled of alcohol and was slurring her words. Defendant was placed under arrest. Defendant remains in custody.
