The following is based on your complainant’s review of the reports of other officers and your complainant’s own investigation: On June 5, 2025, at about 3:45am, St. Paul Police responded to Hmong Village, [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County on an alarm. On arrival, officers found broken glass on both exterior windows of a set of double doors. A rock that appeared to have been used to cause the damage was on the ground nearby. Photographs were taken. Surveillance video was recovered. It shows a man wandering the parking lot, from which he picks up a rock and throws it through the two windows.
About three weeks later, on June 24 at about 1:00am, officers responded again to Hmong Village on an alarm. They found the defendant, BRANDON SCOTT HELVIG ([DOB REDACTED]), inside. He faces a pending charge of Burglary in the Third Degree for the incident (Case No. ••-CR-••-••••). The defendant was positively identified as the man throwing the rock on June 5 as well. The building owner reported paying more than $1,300 to have the door fixed. The defendant's criminal record includes at least six felony convictions.
He failed to appear at the most recent hearing for the pending burglary charge, and at least one warrant for his arrest is outstanding. A warrant is therefore respectfully requested in this case as well.
