On April 11, 2026, Plymouth Police Department officers were traveling eastbound on 36th Avenue in the city of Plymouth, Hennepin County. Officers observed a GMC Yukon without a front license plate. The GMC Yukon was bearing a rear MN license plate TNX-898. Officers initiated a traffic stop in the area 36th Avenue and County Road 81 in Plymouth, Hennepin County. Officers exited their squad car and approached the driver's side door of the GMC Yukon. Officers observed the sole-occupant of the vehicle seated in the driver's seat.
The sole-occupant informed officers she did not have her driver's license. The sole-occupant also told officers she had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The sole-occupant identified herself as Breanna Paulson-Richnafsky ([DOB redacted]) "Defendant" herein. Officers asked the Defendant to exit the vehicle. As Defendant was exiting the vehicle, officers observed drug paraphernalia on the driver's side seat. Officers verified the Defendant's identify and learned Defendant's driving privileges were revoked.
Officers confirmed the Defendant had an active felony arrest warrant out of Hennepin County. Defendant was placed under arrest. Officers returned to the vehicle. Officers observed a black purse on the passenger seat. In plain view, officers observed a clear plastic baggie containing multiple crystal-like shards of suspected narcotics. Officers returned to their squad car and spoke with the Defendant. The Defendant told officers they could search the vehicle. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle.
Officers retrieved the clear plastic baggie containing suspected narcotics from the front passenger seat. Officers also located a small plastic box near the center console. Inside of the small plastic box were multiple small plastic baggies. In each of the baggies were powdery clumps of suspected narcotics. Officers then transported the Defendant to the Hennepin County Jail. Upon further investigation, officers conducted a field test of the suspected narcotics. The contents of the first clear baggie field-tested positive for 9.85 grams of methamphetamine without packaging.
The contents of the subsequent clear baggies collectively field-tested positive for 1.23 grams of cocaine. At present, Defendant is in custody.
