On January 28, 2026, law enforcement executed a narcotics search warrant at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Edina, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The target of the investigation was SCOTT JOSEPH JOHNSON, DEFENDANT herein. DEFENDANT was present inside the residence along with two other adults. DEFENDANT was identified as the resident of the dwelling and was tied to the premises in the pre-warrant investigation including mail addressed to him in the garbage and physical surveillance. During a systematic search, officers found: - 5 purple capsules filled with suspected fentanyl in the basement living room in a drawer near the couch - Two baggies of field-tested positive fentanyl weighing 3.5 and 1.16 grams and checkbooks in DEFENDANT'S name found in a storage cabinet in the southwest corner of the basement - A quantity of.9 gram of suspected methamphetamine found in the downstairs basement on the table - Three bags of suspected THC gummies in the basement freezer weighing 2222 grams, 4020 grams, and 1051 grams (total 7,293 grams) When DEFENDANT was transported to jail, a bag of.54 grams of field-tested positive fentanyl was found on his person.
In a post-Miranda interview, DEFENDANT admitted to using fentanyl and methamphetamine. Additional charges for the suspected THC gummies may be forthcoming.
