On April 8, 2026, a Richfield police officer responded to the Richfield Ice Arena, 636 66th Street East, Hennepin County, regarding a suspicious male that has been inside the building and left suspicious items inside the bathroom under the toilet. Staff were concerned there may be drugs and that the male was still in the area. The male was last seen wearing a blue hat and all dark clothing. Upon arrival, the officer met with staff who him to the bathroom and showed the items. Under the toilet inside one of the stalls was a cell phone, a child’s magnetic sketch pad, Narcan, and a can of black hair spray.
On the back of the phone was an ID, a birth certificate, and a 100-dollar bill. The ID belonged to Kevin Craig Fiedler ([DOB redacted]), hereinafter "Defendant." Staff showed a photo of the male inside the building earlier in the day, and that photo matched Defendant exactly. The officer learned after routine checks that Defendant was a Predatory Offender. On April 9, 2026, there was a Richfield police briefing and officers were informed to arrest Defendant if contacted as he falsely reported on his annual verification letter from the BCA on September 15, 2025 that he was moving to Mexico City.
Officers learned he updated his MN State ID on January 19, 2026 and listed [address omitted]. S, Richfield. MN as his new address. However, he has not updated his address with the BCA. On April 15, 2026, an officer conducted surveillance on the address [address omitted] S. And observed Defendant exit the front door and sit down on the porch. Defendant was then arrested and taken to the Hennepin County Jail where he remains in custody.
