Based on reports from an incident occurring on April 28, 2025, your complainant offers the following to establish probable cause: On April 28, 2025, a loss prevention employee for Kohl's reported to law enforcement an incident that occurred earlier that day at the Kohl's store in the City of Cottage Grove, Washington County, Minnesota. The employee reported that he saw five people enter the store and conceal items. Members of the group left the store with various items without paying for them and without permission to take the items.
Employees determined that many of the items taken were Nike shoes. Employees found empty Nike shoe boxes; the total value of the missing merchandise was $1,202.98. Through investigation, the Cottage Grove Police Department suspected that ERICK FABRICIO SANDOVAL QUINAUCHO, [DOB REDACTED], was one of the five people who committed the theft. On May 22, 2025, Sandoval Quinaucho was arrested in St. Louis Park after a similar theft at a Kohl's store. Cottage Grove Detective Ziebarth spoke with Sandoval Quinaucho in the Hennepin County Jail.
Sandoval Quinaucho admitted to committing theft with one of the others involved in the theft. Sandoval Quinaucho admitted to stealing clothing and shoes and said they did so because they needed the money they gained by selling them. Through additional investigation, the Cottage Grove Police Department confirmed that GISSELLA KATHERINE CASTRO GUANOLUIZA, [DOB REDACTED], was also among the five people who committed the theft. Castro Guanoluiza was identified based on a tattoo shown in surveillance video and also because she and Sandoval Quinaucho were arrested for a similar theft from a Nordstrom Rack store in St. Louis Park.
