Complainant is Maple Grove Police Department Officer Paige Jarmuzek. Complainant states that on October 3, 2025, officers responded to the Victoria's Secret on Elm Creek Boulevard North in the city of Maple Grove, Hennepin County, Minnesota, regarding a possible theft in progress. The reporting party advised two females were in the store concealing merchandise and gave a physical description of both parties. Officers arrived in the area and parked nearby so they had a visual on the store's entrance/exit.
Officers observed the two described females exit the store, including the female that was described to have a white duffel bag that was later identified as MARY ANN SELDON [DOB REDACTED]. The white duffel bag appeared to be full of items. Officers contacted the loss prevention while they watched SELDON and the other female get into what appeared to be an Uber. While officers were following the vehicle, loss prevention confirmed that a theft had occurred and the female with the white bag had taken merchandise.
Officers then immediately conducted a traffic stop. Officers approached the vehicle and made contact with SELDON, who identified herself to officers. SELDON advised officers she had warrants for missing court dates and it was confirmed that SELDON had a gross misdemeanor warrant for theft in Hennepin County. SELDON was placed under arrest and placed in a squad car. While in the squad car, SELDON started to fall asleep and stated that she ingested fentanyl before shoplifting. Paramedics were requested and SELDON was transported to the hopsital for evaluation.
The stolen merchandise was recovered in the white duffel bag and returned to Victoria's Secret. The total value of the stolen merchandise was confirmed to be $747.30. SELDON's warrants were unable to be cleared due to being transported to the hospital. SELDON's GM warrant in 27-CR-24-23481 is still active, thus why a warrant is being requested in this case.
