On February 27, 2026, Saint Paul Police was dispatched to the 1000 block of Edgerton Street on a call where caller said his brother was saying he was going to kill himself. The caller said the brother left with two butcher knives. Officer Thao arrived and met two people in the elevator lobby on the tenth floor. A female-later identified as NS-and a male-later identified as EARLIE LEE GEORGE, [DOB REDACTED]-were on the floor. GEORGE complied with officer directives. He said his twin brother raped his daughter and he went to the address to make a statement.
GEORGE said something about his brother stealing his identity. He was nonsensical. Officers learned that GEORGE was noncompliant with offender registration requirements (POR). GEORGE was handcuffed and searched. During the search, a clear plastic bag with multiple small white substances was found on GEORGE. NS said she was sleeping in the apartment at the time of the incident. She did not hear what GEORGE was arguing with his brother about. When she awakened, she heard GEORGE’s brother tell him to get out of the apartment.
GEORGE had two knives in his hand, but did not make any threats to use them. The 911 caller-WG-spoke to police in his apartment. WG said his brother, GEORGE, and his girlfriend, went to his apartment at approximately 9:00 P.M. On February 27th. They were in the living room of his apartment. He asked GEORGE and NS to leave his apartment. GEORGE became upset and argued with him. GEORGE went into the kitchen, grabbed the butcher knives from the kitchen, went back, stood in front of him, pointed the two knives at him, and told him to “Get Up.” NS was asleep, but woke up because of the argument.
NS intervened. They left the apartment shortly after. WG described the knives as silver butcher knives approximately 16 inches long. During blueprint questions, WG said he believes GEORGE will seriously injure or kill him or his children. He said, “Something wrong with him.” Officers located two knives approximately five feet away from where GEORGE was first seen. The knives- approximately 15 inches long- were in the corner of the hallway. A black sweatshirt was partially on top of the knives.
