On October 1, 2025, at approximately 3:18 A.M., police responded to a domestic assault call at an apartment complex located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. The dispatch comments advised that the suspect, CLEVOANE EUGENE TRICE – [DOB REDACTED], hit and choked the caller, JMB, and identified TRICE as the father of JMB’s child. Upon arrival, police located JMB upset and standing barefoot in the parking lot. JMB said TRICE was still in the apartment. JMB told police she wanted TRICE removed and that nothing physical happened.
However, police observed bloody marks on JMB’s neck and a scratch on her right cheek. The marks appeared fresh. JMB pulled up her shirt collar to try to cover the marks and said they were not that bad. JMB reiterated that she just wanted TRICE removed and that she was okay. When asked about the marks, JMB said she got them from a friend she fought with an hour ago then got into it with TRICE when she got home and wanted him to leave. While speaking with JMB, she cried and said she did not want to do this right now.
Other officers went to JMB’s apartment to speak with TRICE. JMB continued crying and said she came home with the marks and argued with TRICE, who was upset about how much she drank and that she was with her ex. The other officers advised that TRICE was not answering the door and asked for JMB’s keys. JMB checked her pockets and said she ran out of the apartment without them. The officer asked JMB to be honest because they both knew TRICE hurt her. JMB stepped closer, lowered her voice, and stated, “Yes, he did.
I didn’t want him to do it no more. I didn’t want him to think he could put his hands on me no more, like what the f***?” JMB added that she did not want anything more done as they have a newborn baby together. The officer advised other officers that TRICE was wanted for Domestic Assault, and it was likely a felony due to multiple priors. At that, JMB began crying again and said that she would have no help with the baby without TRICE. The other officers advised that TRICE exited the patio door and fled on foot.
The baby was left unattended inside the apartment. Police searched the area using a drone and a K9 but were unable to locate TRICE. JMB allowed medics to evaluate the baby. JMB refused to allow medics to treat her but eventually agreed to allow them to clean her wounds. After JMB returned to her apartment, she again stated that she did not want any further police involvement. On October 29, an investigator spoke with JMB, who again stated that she did not want follow-up on this incident. A pick-up and hold was issued for his arrest, but as of this writing, TRICE has not been located.
