That on September 12, 2025, at approximately 3:09 P.M., Bloomington Police Officer King was dispatched to Marshalls, located at 4220 78th Street West, in the City of Bloomington, Hennepin County, regarding a past action shoplifting incident. Officer King arrived on scene and met with Loss Prevention, D. U., who stated that he was reviewing video from a past action shoplifting incident on August 25, 2025, and at approximately 3:08 P.M., he observed a known male shoplifter, later identified as Lamon Cotrell Gray [DOB REDACTED] ("Defendant") enter the store, select numerous pairs of shoes, conceal them inside a duffel bag that he had also selected, and then leave the store without paying for the items.
D. U. Estimated the known loss at $189.96. The Defendant has been trespassed from numerous TJ Maxx/Marshalls stores. Detective Engelen was assigned the case for investigative action. Detective Engelen made contact with D. U. Who confirmed that he was able to identify the Defendant since he had been working cases with him since June 2024, and that he was a habitual offender at multiple Marshalls locations. Detective Engelen compared the Defendant's DVS photo, current CCTV footage, and past video and photographs of the Defendant and determined they were all a match.
Detective Engelen reviewed CCTV footage provided of the Defendant who is seen entering the store, selecting items, and exiting the store, making no attempt to pay for the stolen merchandise. Based on the above, your complainant states that on August 25, 2025, within the corporate limits of the City of Bloomington, Hennepin County, State of Minnesota, Lamon Cotrell Gray, then and there being, did violate the above-listed provisions.
