On November 22, 2025, around 1:17 AM, Fridley Police Officers responded to an assault report which had just occurred at Unity Hospital located on Osborne Road NE, Fridley, Anoka County. An emergency room nurse, J. H., reported that a patient, Mark William Ochoa-Pineda [DOB REDACTED] Defendant herein, was going through alcohol withdrawals and excessively grabbed onto her right forearm and refused to let go to the point where it left demonstrable marks. Upon arrival, officers met with J. H., who stated she was had been providing care for Defendant since his arrival at the hospital the day prior when he was placed in the emergency room for alcohol withdrawal.
Defendant was exhibiting manic behavior and became increasingly agitated and aggressive towards her and other staff. Defendant’s mother arrived and was removed due to escalating behavior. Defendant continued to yell, scream, kick and hit staff, while recording them and accusing them of “poisoning” him. Defendant was placed on a medical hold due to his aggressive and unstable behavior. At around 12:35 AM, J. H. Was attempting to place cardiac pads on Defendant, when he grabbed her right arm tightly enough to cause pain and refused to let go until medical staff intervened.
While attempting to place Defendant into restraints, Defendant kicked and hit other medical staff and spat in the face of a security guard. Officers observed visible injury on J. H.’s right arm approximately 6 inches in length, still present over 45 minutes after the assault. J. H. Also noted continued discomfort, pain, and tenderness to the area of the injury.
