That on April 8, 2025, at approximately 8:28 A.M., Bloomington Police Officer Merseth responded to a crash at American Boulevard. Officer Merseth spoke with the first driver, who was identified as Omar M. Hassan [DOB REDACTED] ("Defendant"). The Defendant said he was driving westbound on American Boulevard at Lyndale Avenue South, in the City of Bloomington, Hennepin County, and sped up to get through a yellow light. The driver of the second vehicle, R. C. B. Said that he was traveling southbound on Lyndale Avenue South at American Boulevard and that he was waiting at a red light.
R. C. B. Said when the light turned green, he started driving forward and struck the Defendant in the passenger side. The Defendant's vehicle spun and rolled onto the driver's side. Officer Merseth recovered video that showed the Defendant approach and stop at the intersection while southbound traffic on Lyndale Avenue South was making a left turn to eastbound American Boulevard. The Defendant tried to cross the intersection after the left turn traffic cleared and as southbound traffic started. Based on the above, your complainant states that on April 8, 2025, within the corporate limits of the City of Bloomington, Hennepin County, State of Minnesota, Omar M Hassan, then and there being, did violate the above-listed provisions.
