On January 5, 2026, Edina Police were contacted by A. F., herein Victim, about a past domestic assault. Victim stated her and Abdullahi Ibrahim Mohamed, born on [DOB REDACTED], herein DEFENDANT, were dating back on December 5, 2023. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was temporarily living at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Edina, Hennepin County, at the time. Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the night of December 5, 2023, the two of them had been drinking and Victim [NAME REDACTED] one of DEFENDANT’s bedrooms. Victim woke up to DEFENDANT punching her repeatedly in face while calling her a whore and saying he went through her phone and saw an explicit video of her and another person.
During the assault, DEFENDANT placed both hands around her neck and began choking her. Victim stated DEFENDANT choked her for 10-15 seconds until another person entered the room and pulled DEFENDANT off Victim. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was the worst pain she had ever been in – describing it as a 10 out of 10. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was hard to breathe during the strangulation. Victim had pain for hours after the assault. Victim’s face had significant swelling and bruising. Victim showed officers several pictures that were dated December 5, 2023, that depict her injuries.
The pictures showed Victim appearing disheveled with a bloody nose, bloody mouth and bruising/redness around her eyes. Victim [NAME REDACTED] from the following day where Victim [NAME REDACTED], and bruises began to set in. DEFENDANT has a pending Felony Domestic Assault by Strangulation case, ••-CR-••-••••, involving a different victim. At the time of that offense, and currently, DEFENDANT is on probation for Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm, case file ••-CR-••-••••. On that case, DEFENDANT received a disposition departure to probation on November 26, 2024. DEFENDANT is currently in custody on the above probation violation and pending felony case.
Therefore, a warrant is requested.
