On 12/11/2025, at about 1343 hours, St. Paul Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft. The complainant, UMC, said she rented a 2024 Nissan Altima (MN/TZT5756) from Enterprise Rent-a-Car and her ex-boyfriend, Kayden Tarrek OCASIO ([DOB REDACTED], stole it from [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul, Ramsey County. The value of the vehicle exceeded $5,000. UMC said she and OCASIO dated in the past but had broken up. UMC said OCASIO is homeless and the day before, 12/10/25, she let him into her apartment.
At about 2300 hours OCASIO got upset at her, yelled at her, pushed her, and took the Altima’s keys out of her hand. OCASIO then got into the Altima and drove away. UMC said she never allowed OCCASIO to drive the Altima and OCASIO does not have a valid driver's license. According to UMC, after OCASIO took the vehicle, he called her multiple times telling her that he was going to return it, but never did. When UMC said she was calling police, OCASIO said "F*** you, I'm not bringing s*** back to you." Police contacted Enterprise which confirmed UMC’s rental and advised that UMC had already reported to them that the vehicle had been stolen.
Police entered the vehicle into NCIC as stolen. At about 1515 hours on 12/11/25, Enterprise Rent-a-Car called police and informed them that the stolen vehicle had been dropped off at their location on 1161 Univ. Ave W and that it had a bullet hole in the driver’s side rear door. Police went to Enterprise, saw the bullet hole, and saw that its front bumper had been damaged. Police also spoke to Enterprise employee CB who said she had called UMC who advised that OCASIO had stolen the vehicle. CB then called OCASIO who said his "grandma" would be returning the vehicle soon.
CB said the vehicle was returned at about 1459 hours on 12/11/2025 by a woman who identified herself as OCASIO’s grandmother. CB said the woman arrived driving a Jeep, OCASIO arrived driving the Altima, and the woman gave CB the Altima’s keys. For purposes of Rule 6.02, OCASIO is on probation, has an open felony case for Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle (••-CR-••-••••), and has a previous felony conviction for Fleeing Police in a Motor Vehicle (27- CR-24-6772).
