On November 17, 2025, Detective Kotchen with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received a report from Lino Lakes Police regarding a delayed criminal sexual conduct occurring between November 13, 2025, and November 15, 2025, at a hotel located on the 500th block of Apollo Drive, in the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County. The reporting party, A.M., stated she met a male, later identified as Raul Alberto Sosa [DOB REDACTED] Defendant herein, on social media who lived out of state.
After talking for a while, Defendant arranged to visit A.M. For the weekend and booked a hotel. On November 13, 2025, Defendant arrived in the late evening hours, picked up dinner with A.M., and then checked into the hotel. The two engaged in consensual sexual activity but while doing so, Defendant inserted something into A.M.’s anus without her consent. A.M. Told Defendant to stop, and he complied. A.M. Was emotional and crying due to the anal penetration and Defendant apologized, claimed it was an accident, and said it would never happen again.
The following day, A.M. Showed Defendant around the Twin Cities as they had previously planned and returned to the hotel in the late evening hours. At the hotel, Defendant and A.M. Engaged in consensual sexual activities until Defendant again inserted a sex toy into A.M.’s anus without her consent, which she immediately told him to stop doing. This time, Defendant did not comply, and A.M. Continued to tell him to stop while trying to push him away and get away. Defendant grabbed her hands, pinned her to the bed and held her down while continuing to anally penetrate her with the object for approximately 15 seconds.
Afterwards, A.M. Was crying and having a panic attack and Defendant apologized and said it was an accident. A.M. Told Defendant she needed a cigarette and left to call her friends to come get her. When she returned, Defendant was upset about what happened and said he felt bad. A.M. Ended up consoling Defendant until he fell asleep. A.M. Then got an Uber to a friend’s house as she was an hour away from her home. A.M. Noticed she had rectal bleeding and pain for the next five days. A.M.’s friend M. K. Spoke to Defendant on the phone following the incident and recorded the conversation.
Defendant stated A.M. Got emotional when she felt his finger go inside her anal area. He was drunk and panicking, so he held her, kissed her forehead, apologized and stated he would “never do that again.” Defendant then spoke about the following night and said, “the same thing was happening, you know like, I was doing that to her, and you know, I’m guessing, I don’t know if I was being too rough or something or you and then I don’t know she just started like really like crying and I, you know I just stopped and held her and she just kept crying.” Defendant described A.M. Putting her hand out like she was telling him to stop but that he took her hand and pinned it back down.
