On 12-05-2025 at about 0107 hours, St. Paul Police responded to a domestic in progress at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul, Ramsey County. Upon arrival, police spoke to the caller, KEY, who said that earlier in the night, she and her brother, Vai YANG ([DOB REDACTED]), were at a bar and were arguing about a female he was interested in. KEY said they drove home and continued arguing. At one point, YANG grabbed her, threw her to the ground, got on top of her, and struck her in the mouth with a closed fist about 2-3 times.
Police noted that KEY had a cut on her lower lip, a cut inside her lip, and a scratch on the right side of her jaw. There was also fresh blood on her right forearm that she said was from her lip. Police spoke to YANG who said nothing happened and he did not know why police were there. He said he had been at home all night and was asleep when police arrived. Police saw that YANG had a droplet of fresh wet blood on the right side of his neck. YANG said the blood was from his dry bloody nose. YANG has at least two QDVROs in the past 10 years out of the State of Wisconsin.
In WI Case # 2016CF000412, YANG was convicted of 1) Battery [Modifiers: Domestic Abuse], class A misdemeanor, Wisconsin Statutes 940.19(1); 2) False Imprisonment, class H felony, Wisconsin Statutes 940.30; 3) Robbery with Use of Force, class E felony, Wisconsin Statutes 943.32(1)(a); and 2nd-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, class G felony, Wisconsin Statutes 941.30(2).
