On or about January 5th, 2025, at about 8:05 pm officers with the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a vehicle stolen at gun point at the intersection of 22nd Street West and Aldrich Avenue South in Minneapolis, in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival officers spoke with FJS who stated he had parked his Prius at the Speedway gas station on Lyndale using pump 7. Two individuals were parked at pump 5 and directed him to follow them to the intersection listed above. FJS said he was familiar with the two individuals identifying them as Biggie and Shaddy.
FJS stated that he parked behind an unknown apartment building. Biggie entered FJS’s vehicle and sat in the front passenger seat, followed by Shaddy, who sat in the backseat directly behind Biggie. Shaddy then produced a small black handgun with his right hand. Shaddy pointed the gun at FJS from his hip level and was not wearing gloves. According to FJS, Shaddy grabbed him from behind with his left arm. FJS stated that he immediately pushed Shaddy's arm away, exited the vehicle, fled the scene, and called the police.
Officers later found the stolen vehicle traveling with two individuals in the vehicle. The two men eventually stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers were able to chase them. The officers eventually stopped and arrested the male who was in the front passenger seat who was identified as Liiban Munye Abu-Munye [DOB REDACTED], Defendant 1 herein. He was arrested and taken into custody. He identified the other male as the one who identifies as Shady and claimed that he was in possession of the firearm alleged to be part of this incident.
Officers were also able to apprehend the other individual who was in the stolen vehicle and identified him as ABU-MUNYE, LIIBAN MUNYE [DOB REDACTED], Defendant 1 herein. Both Defendant’s remain in custody on this charge.
