On January 21, 2025, approximately around 8:27 A.M., Minneapolis Police Department Officers were executing a search warrant at a residence located at the 2600 block of Humboldt Avenue North in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Officers were executing the search warrant as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation into NATHANIEL ANTHONY JONES [DOB REDACTED] "Defendant" herein. Officers were aware that Defendant frequented the residence. Officers entered the residence and searched the main bedroom. Inside of a closet within the main bedroom, officers located a black and white purse.
Inside of the pursue was a large plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance of suspected narcotics. Officers also located another plastic baggie storing three separate plastic baggies. Each of the three plastic baggies also contained a white powdery substance of suspected narcotics. Officers also located a digital scale underneath a large dresser. On top of the digital scale was a white powdery substance. Officers field tested the contents of the baggies. The contents of the baggies field tested positive for a total weight of 67.3 grams of fentanyl.
Def was arrested at his car at a nearby gas station. Defendant was searched incident to arrest. Officers located $2,089.00 in cash from Defendant's wallet. During a post-Miranda Statement, Defendant informed officers there would be narcotics inside of a purse at the residence. Defendant admitted the narcotics was cocaine and fentanyl. Defendant has a prior Second-Degree Controlled Substance Conviction from Scott County in Court Case File No. ••-CR-••-•••• At present, Defendant is in custody.
