On January 4, 2026, at approximately 1813 hours, Officers responded to a report of an assault at 20* 34th Ave N in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Officers arrived and made contact with a known adult male, Victim herein. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was assaulted by his brother-in-law, identified as LONNIE ALLEN DAVIS, [DOB REDACTED], AKA LONNIE ALLEN MCKINNIE, Defendant herein. Officers observed Victim to have a large lump around his eye that was swollen shut. Victim [NAME REDACTED] went to Defendant’s home and a dispute arose.
Victim reported that Defendant then held Victim down on the couch and began punching him in the face. Victim [NAME REDACTED] who reported that Victim likely had a broken facial bone. Victim was transported to Mercy Hospital where it was confirmed that Victim had a broken bone near his eye that would require surgery. Officers made contact with Defendant. Defendant stated that Victim came to his home and a dispute arose. Defendant stated that Victim was intoxicated and slipped and fell in the snow as he was leaving Defendant’s home.
Defendant was placed under arrest Defendant is currently in custody.
