On January 29, 2026, at approximately 7:53 P.M., a deputy with the Chisago County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a residence within Chisago County on reports of a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, both parties were still arguing and yelling at each other. The caller was identified as A. J. Z. ("the victim"). The other party was identified as MARK ALLEN REED, [DOB REDACTED] ("the Defendant"). The deputy separated both parties and ultimately spoke with the victim [NAME REDACTED]. The victim advised that she and the Defendant were arguing and that the Defendant got increasingly angry and picked up a chair in the dining room and threw it on the ground near the entrance of the kitchen where the victim [NAME REDACTED]. The Defendant ultimately came into the kitchen and picked up another chair.
The victim turned around and began to run to the back of the kitchen and into her bedroom when the Defendant threw the chair towards the victim's position. The chair landed in the back of the kitchen near the entrance to the victim's bedroom. The victim advised that she ran for her life and that she was terrified. The victim advised that if the chair had struck her, she would have been hurt. The Defendant has at least two qualified domestic violence-related offense convictions within the ten years immediately preceding this offense in Court File Nos. ••-CR-••-•••• and ••-CR-••-••••.
