On April 1, 2026, Minneapolis Police received a report of a theft that had taken place at about 9:00 P.M., on March 30, 2026, at Speedway, located at 5101 34th Ave S in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Officers received surveillance video of the theft, in which the suspect, later identified as JORI JO MEGENUPH [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, parked an orange Chevrolet HHR at one of the gas pumps and walked into Speedway. She walked back into the manager's office, which is not open to the public, and was seen coming out of it with a bulge under her clothes.

She did this twice. There had been a filing cabinet in the office that contained several cartons of cigarettes. In total, 110 packs had been stolen, which totaled $1,731.40. Defendant was observed in the orange HHR again on April 8, 2026, around 1:10 A.M., and she was wearing the same black jacket as she was wearing in the theft from March 30. Officers conducted a stop and apprehended her at this time. Defendant is currently in custody in Hennepin County Jail.
