On December 22, 2025, at approximately 4:16 P.M., deputies responded to a theft at Shoreview Target, [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, Shoreview, County of Ramsey. Loss Prevention Staff told deputies the suspect left in a silver Chevrolet sedan northbound on Lexington Avenue, no front plates. Loss Prevention Staff PO was pushing a red Target cart with several electronics. PO said he recovered the items from the suspect. Deputies received a description of the suspect vehicle and observed it traveling north on Lexington Avenue in a reckless manner, failing to stop at a red light at Lexington Avenue and the I-694 highway.
The vehicle traveled west on I-694. Deputy Jerome followed the vehicle with squad emergency lights and siren activated. The driver failed to pull over and accelerated speed, weaved in an out of traffic, and traveled to 8th Street NW, made a U-turn into the intersection, and west on Long Lake Road. Deputy Jerome discontinued the pursuit due to the reckless driving of the driver, but continued to follow the vehicle. The vehicle crashed into a snowbank at a residence on 9th Avenue NW. The driver ran away.
Deputy Jerome pursued the driver on foot. The driver/suspect broke a panel on a locked wooden fence to a residence on 9th Avenue, and ran into the backyard. The homeowner exited the home with a baseball bat and confronted the suspect. The suspect went to a basement window well of the residence, and was told to not move. Deputies arrested the female suspect identified as SHEQUITA ANGELIC HEARD, [DOB REDACTED]. HEARD denied involvement in the theft and said, “It was him.” HEARD also said, “I shouldn’t have run…I don’t know why I ran….everyone knows I’m scared of the police.” The vehicle-a Chevrolet Malibu- was missing front and rear license plates, was running, and the driver’s door was open.
A manila envelope covered the VIN on the dashboard of the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, there was 1 PlayStation 5 box, 1 Xbox Series X 1 TB game console, 1Xbox Series S 512 GB game console, 3 Nintendo Switch game consoles, 4 Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, 1 PlayStation earbuds. There was a red Target employee vest and a Target employee radio with earpiece on the front passenger seat. In the trunk, the license plate registered to the vehicle was found. Target employee PO told deputies HEARD stole a Target employee vest at 10:22 A.M. On December 22nd.
At 11:45, HEARD wore the Target vest stolen from Shoreview and stole $1, 649.97 worth of property from the Roseville Target, including three Air pod Maxes. At approximately 4:09, on December 22nd, HEARD entered the Shoreview Target wearing the Target vest, khaki pants, and eyeglasses, and walked to the electronics department. HEARD convinced a tech employee to open the locked cabinet with electronics. The Target employee handed HEARD 4 Ray-Ban meta glasses ($246.75 each); 3 Nintendo Switches ($499.99 each); 1 Xbox 512GB ($399.99); 1 Xbox Series X ($649.99). The total value of the items is $3, 536.95. HEARD passed all points of sale without paying for the items and placed the items inside her vehicle.
