On January 29, 2026, officers executed search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation into Tony Hui [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, who was involved in the illegal distribution/packaging of controlled substances to include but not limited to cocaine. Officers executed search warrants for Defendant’s person, his vehicles, home and associated restaurant located on Humbolt Ave in Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The investigation began in November 2025 and included numerous occasions where the Defendant was observed conducting short-term hand-to-hand transactions at residences in Anoka and Hennepin Counties and then returned to his home on Humbolt Ave.
The transactions often were only 15-20 seconds in duration. On one occasion a male came out to the Defendant’s vehicle, got into the front passenger seat, then left putting a small item in his right pants pocket area, consistent with receiving narcotics. Defendant also frequented the family-owned restaurant across the street. On January 29, 2026, officers conducted a traffic stop on the Defendant’s vehicle at a Wells Fargo bank in Brooklyn Center. The Defendant was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Officers located 1g of field-tested positive cocaine between the center console and the driver’s seat, $5,630 in US currency, drug paraphernalia, a digital scale and a large amount of plastic baggies consistent with the packaging and sales of illegal narcotics. Officers also executed a search warrant at the home address and located: • Medium-sized bag containing white powder, 227.19g of field-tested positive cocaine in the kitchen cupboard. The countertop below the cupboard looked like an area where cocaine was sifted, weighed and packaged. • 191.51g field tested positive cocaine in a desk drawer in the living room adjacent to the kitchen.
The cocaine was located next to a Wells Fargo debit card with the Defendant’s name and a fantasy football championship belt with “Tony Hui” on it. • Box containing $5,340 in cash behind the entertainment center in the living room. In the Defendant’s other vehicle parked at his residence, an Acura RDX, officers located 2.6g of field- tested positive cocaine in a plastic baggie, an invoice in the name of Tony Hui and bags for cocaine. In total officers recovered $10,970 in US Currency and approximately 422g of field-tested positive cocaine, drug paraphernalia including scales and baggies.
The Defendant is currently in custody.
