On December 28, 2025, at approximately 1:54 P.M., Fergus Falls Police Officer Chris Haken responded to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility in Fergus Falls, a location in Otter Tail County, regarding damage to jail property. Officer Haken made contact with Otter Tail County Jailer Levi Holmquist who stated that Adam Gronseth, the above-named defendant, was in living unit G. The defendant picked up the phone attached to the kiosk in the living unit and used the phone to damage the screen on the kiosk.
The kiosk is now inoperable. After destroying the kiosk with the phone, the defendant walked into cell #2 to lock himself down. Officer Haken was shown video related to the incident showing the defendant damaging the kiosk unit. Officer Haken further took photographs of the damage. Officer Haken met with the defendant, read him his Miranda warning and the defendant indicated he would speak with Officer Haken. When asked why he damaged the machine, the defendant stated because he was upset. The damage is estimated to be $1,160.38 to repair or replace the damaged property.
