On or about March 27, 2026, Minneapolis police were dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED], Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, for a domestic assault. While enroute, dispatch aired that the reporting party was in a vehicle near the police station. Police made contact with a male, Victim 1, and female, Victim 2. They said they were having issues with their son, JOSHUA EARL MCDONOUGH [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein. Victim 2 reported that while at the residence, the defendant was throwing pieces of wood at her and smashed her windshield while she was inside her vehicle.
She said she was in shock and scared he was trying to hit her in the head with pieces of wood. She said she had to run away to prevent getting hit by the pieces of wood he was throwing at her. He then caused damage when he started hitting her windshield with the wood. She said he has assaulted her in the past and caused injuries. Police responded to the residence and placed defendant under arrest. While at the scene, police made contact with a neighbor, Witness herein. He said he heard defendant yelling at his mother and heard him throwing the log at his mother’s windshield.
Defendant has several pending cases, including: 4th Degree Assault (27-CR-25-11399); and 4th Degree Assault (27-CR-25-10887). Defendant’s criminal history includes: - GMD No Contact Order Violation (27-CR-23-22328), convicted 6/10/2025. - GMD Domestic Assault (27-CR-22-20262), convicted 1/18/2024. - MSD 5th Degree Assault (27-CR-16-18638), convicted 2/8/2019. Defendant is in custody.
