On January 5, 2026, on officer with the Minneapolis Police Department was alerted to a stolen vehicle near him based on his squad license plate reader. At the time the officer was near the intersection of Cedar Ave S and 26th Street East, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The stolen vehicle was a tan Dodge sedan, bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED]. The officer saw that the driver was a male, with lighter colored skin, shoulder length braids, and a left hand tattoo. At the time, the officer was en route to respond to another emergency call and after that cleared returned to the area to look for the car.
In the area of EM Stately Street and Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, the officer saw the driver of the vehicle walking in a parking lot and stopped him. The driver was identified as KEENAN KLAYTON KONRAD BEAULIEU, [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein. Also in the lot was the stolen Dodge, occupied by two other people who were identified and arrested on active warrants. Officers learned that the vehicle had been stolen out of Polk County, Minnesota, on January 1, 2026. On that date, Crookston Police Department responded to a gas station and the Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been stolen with the keys in it.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage and saw the suspect who took the Dodge. Officers noted the suspect was a taller male wearing black pants and a winter coat. Officers then called the Northwest Regional Corrections Center to learn who had been released that day and learned that Defendant had been released from jail and reported he was going to Share and Care to try and find a way to Mahnomen. A physical description of the Defendant matched the man in the surveillance footage at the gas station.
Share and Care staff confirmed that Defendant had gone there and received a jacket that matched the jacket seen on gas station surveillance. Defendant is currently in custody. Defendant has been charged by warrant complaint for motor vehicle theft in 60-CR-26-17.
