On September 28, 2025, at approximately 12:05 A.M., Edina Police were dispatched to a report of suspicious activity at the Millennium Apartments, located at 3250 66th Street West in Edina, Hennepin County. Dispatch advised a male and female suspect had entered the parking garage. Police responded and spoke with Millennium security J. P. Who reported he observed the two suspects exiting the garage, and that one had a baby trailer attached to a bicycle. Police watched surveillance footage and observed the male and female suspect attempting to open multiple vehicle doors, including J. P.'s door.
Video also showed the two suspects arriving, and the female suspect tripped the garage door sensor with her foot so both parties could enter the secure garage. Both suspects are then observed attempting to go through vehicles, going into the storage area, and then entering the secure bicycle storage room. The two suspects then left the storage area and were seen riding two bicycles inside of the parking garage before leaving the garage on the bicycles. Police took photos from the recordings showing the descriptions of the two suspects.
On September 30, 2025, an Edina Crime Analyst sent an investigative lead identifying the male suspect as KEATEN JAMES MORRIS [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Morris herein. The investigator then learned Defendant Morris had recently been arrested on an unrelated case with Edina Police. The investigator spoke with the arresting officer who confirmed Defendant Morris's identity through screenshots. Police then issued a warrant for Defendant Morris's arrest. On October 31, 2025, Defendant Morris was arrested on the warrant and provided a post-Miranda statement.
In his statement, Defendant Morris admitted to entering the garage with the female suspect he knew as 'Naynay.' On October 31, 2025, the investigator emailed Hennepin County CISA with two photographs of the female suspect from the parking garage when she looked up at the camera. A CISA analyst then provided the investigative lead of TANAYA LEE [DOB REDACTED], Defendant Lee herein. Defendant was in custody on unrelated matters, so the investigator compared Defendant Lee's booking photograph and confirmed it matched the female suspect in the garage.
At present, Defendant Morris and Defendant Lee are in custody.
