On April 8, 2026, Minneapolis Police Department Officers were called to the 3100 Block of Aldrich Avenue in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota in response to a reported person with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party, hereinafter Victim, who reported that another resident of the apartment building, identified as FLORA MAE BJORKSTRAND, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant had entered her apartment unit without permission. Victim was not home when the entry happened but came home to the door being locked and a person inside.
Victim noted that she left the apartment moments before the incident and realized she had left the door unlocked. When she returned the door was locked and she could hear a person inside damaging her property within the unit. Victim [NAME REDACTED] attempts to unlock the door and enter the apartment, but Defendant would lock the door from the inside when Victim tried to use the key to enter. Victim eventually gained access to her apartment and observed Defendant as the sole occupant of the unit. Immediately upon her entry, Victim [NAME REDACTED] attacked by Defendant by slapping, punching and scratching Victim.
Victim sustained injuries to her face as a result of said attack. Upon observation of her apartment, Victim noted that pieces of her furniture were damaged as well as the oven, shelves, and several bags. Defendant did not have permission to enter Victim's closed apartment unit or damage her property therein. Defendant is currently out of custody. Defendant lives in the same apartment building and directly below Victim's residence. Based on the aforementioned activity, the State believes Defendant poses a risk to public safety.
The State respectfully requests this complaint issue via warrant.
