Antonio Martin Bellanger

On April 22, 2026, at approximately 11:30 pm, Metro Transit officers were on patrol when they observed two people laying down on the pavement underneath the Hiawatha bridge near Lake Street East, in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers observed an adult female, Victim, laying on her side toward a wall with her face down and her pants pulled down. The male was behind her with his pants down and appeared to be engaged in sexual intercourse with Victim. The male was later identified as ANTONIO MARTIN BELLANGER [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter “Defendant.” Officers approached the two people and told them to move on.

Defendant stood up but Victim [NAME REDACTED]. After a short time, Victim [NAME REDACTED] told officers that Defendant had raped her. Victim was transported to the hospital. Investigators spoke with Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was a friend and someone she considered a brother. They had both been drinking that day. Earlier that day, Victim drank a large amount of alcohol and was very intoxicated. Victim [NAME REDACTED] is homeless and hung out at the park all day. Eventually she walked over to the Lake Street light rail station.

Victim did not remember the details but did remember a man penetrating her vagina with his penis. Victim [NAME REDACTED] did not consent to this and told the man to stop but he continued to have sex with her. Defendant was arrested and is currently in custody.
