At around 8:08 PM on January 25, 2026, MATTHEW JACOB REEDY [DOB REDACTED] completed a food delivery at the apartment building located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Shoreview, Ramsey County while working on his son’s DoorDash account. Reedy entered wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and dark shoes. Reedy had what appeared to be a keychain dangling from his front right pocket. Packages had been left by the locked front door for retrieval. At around 8:10 PM, Reedy returned to the building. Reedy had put his hood up and put on a mask, but he otherwise wore the same clothing he wore when he made the food delivery.
The object still dangled from Reedy’s right pocket. Reedy grabbed one of the packages and left the vestibule with it. A resident reported the package theft to apartment management. Staff found the food delivery and subsequent theft on surveillance video. An investigator identified Reedy’s son as the owner of the DoorDash account used to make the delivery. Reedy’s son explained that he had let his father use his account to make deliveries beginning sometime in December 2025 because Reedy had lost his job.
He noted that his account with DoorDash had been closed, and he suspected it had something to do with his father. He said Reedy has a lengthy criminal history, but he does not see his father often. Reedy has 7 prior felony convictions: 2 domestic assaults by strangulation, a VOCSL 5, a VOCSL 3, fleeing police in a motor vehicle, theft and burglary in the second degree.
