Caring for community memorials at George Floyd Square

Since 2020, George Floyd Square has been a place where the community has come together to create community memorials. When construction starts this June, the city is committed to ensuring that the community has access to the memorials and a place for people to come together and grieve and remember George Floyd and other lives lost. That means that some of the memorials will need to be temporarily relocated. We are currently meeting with the caretakers here at the Square and the artist to talk about these temporary moves, what their concerns are.
