Charging ICE Agent in January Shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis: HCAO Press Conference May 18, 2026

Thank you all for being here. I'm Hennepin County Attorney Mary Mouryarty. Today the Hennepin County Attorney's Office filed charges against Christian Castro in immigration and customs enforcement or ICE agent stemming from the shooting of Julio Sosa-Salisse in North Minneapolis on January 14th. He is being charged with four counts of assault in the second degree and one count of falsely reporting a crime.
