I want to start by expressing my deepest condolences to the family of Monique Baw. For victims and their families, our system is often excruciatingly slow. For Monique's family, this was especially true, as they have now had to sit through four trials and the emotional pain of an overturned conviction. Sometimes, verdicts can help bring people closer, but for Monique's family, that may ring false because they have been here before.
