On March 9, 2026, at approximately 9:39 P.M., South Saint Paul Police were dispatched to a residence located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Dakota County, regarding a domestic. Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male, fully identified in police reports and thereinafter referred to as Victim, lying on a bed in the bedroom. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been stabbed with a knife by his wife, DESSAMONA COURTNEY [DOB REDACTED]. Officers observed the bedroom door dislodged from the doorframe and blood covering Victim’s left hand and on his body.
Next to the bed, officers observed a dresser drawer on the floor that had blood droplets on the handle. Victim reported that COURTNEY hit him with a walking cane on his side, hit him with a metal chair on his thighs, and hit him on the back of his head with the dresser drawer multiple times. When she left the room, he shut the door and locked it. COURTNEY then stated that she was going to stab him and started kicking the door. The door came off the door frame and he observed COURTNEY holding a knife with a gold handle.
COURTNEY swung the knife at him. Victim raised his hands up to defend himself and the knife cut his left hand. Officers observed a laceration on Victim’s left hand, scratch marks on his back, and a small bruise on his left leg that appeared to be recent. Victim refused to go to the hospital. Officers recovered a gold handle knife inside a closet at the residence. Officers made contact with COURTNEY and observed powdery residue in and around her left nostril. No visible marks, bruises, cuts, abrasions were observed on COURTNEY by officers.
Inside COURTNEY’s purse in the bedroom, officers recovered a small plastic baggie that contained a white powdery substance. The white powdery substance NIK tested positive for fentanyl and weighed 1.82 grams without packaging. COURTNEY was transported to the Dakota County Jail without incident.
