On June 9, 2026, at approximately 1:30 P.M., a deputy with the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol in his squad vehicle near the intersection of 295th Street West and Gaylord Avenue in Randolph Township, Dakota County, Minnesota. At that time, the deputy saw a white pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy measured the truck’s speed via radar at 72 miles per hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone. The deputy turned around to follow the truck. The deputy then activated the emergency lights on his squad vehicle to execute a traffic stop on the truck near the intersection of 292nd Street and Felton Avenue.
The truck turned onto Felton Avenue to travel north. The truck slowed but then accelerated. Shortly thereafter, the deputy activated the siren on his squad vehicle. The truck did not stop. Instead, the truck continued to drive and traveled at high speeds. The truck traveled from Felton Avenue to Highway 52, traveling towards Cannon Falls. The deputy pursued the truck for approximately five minutes. Then, an assisting officer utilized a stop sticks to help stop the truck. The truck passed over the stop sticks but continued to drive for approximately another minute.
The truck stopped on a residential road in Cannon Falls. The deputy took the driver and lone occupant, identified as BETHANY ARIANA EMANUELSON ([DOB redacted]), into custody. The deputy noticed that EMANUELSON seemed unsteady on her feet during the arrest process. The deputy also noticed that EMANUELSON was sweating profusely. The deputy ran EMANUELSON’s information and learned that she had a revoked driver’s license and active warrants. The deputy searched the truck and located alcohol related items, including bottles of alcohol.
The deputy also located a marijuana pipe in the driver’s side door. Meanwhile, an assisting deputy located two glass bubble pipes, commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, inside the truck: one in the rear pocket 2 19HA-CR-26-817 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 6/10/2026 of the front passenger seat and one in the center console. One of the pipes contained a dime-sized rock- like substance. The deputy asked EMANUELSON to perform field sobriety tests. EMANUELSON complied. EMANUELSON’s performance on the tests indicted possible impairment.
In a statement, EMANUELSON admitted to recent methamphetamine use. The deputy transported EMANUELSON to the Dakota County Jail. Once there, EMANUELSON provided a statement, in which she admitted to speeding. The deputy applied for and obtained a search warrant for a blood draw from EMANUELSON’s person. The deputy transported EMANUELSON to a hospital so a blood draw could be obtained. EMANUELSON provided a blood sample. Lab results on the blood sample are pending.
