On December 12, 2025, at approximately 5:32 A.M., officers were dispatched to a residence in Hastings, Dakota County, after Witness called to report they could hear sounds, along with screaming and yelling coming from their neighbor’s residence that woke them from their sleep. Officers could hear Victim yelling for help when they arrived on scene. Victim walked over towards officers with blood coming out of her mouth and one of her eyes swollen shut. Victim indicated her cheek and neck also hurt.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been beaten up by her ex-boyfriend, CHRISTOPHER ROBIN PETERSON [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, who had come over to her house the night before. Defendant became upset when Victim [NAME REDACTED] on an issue Defendant was experiencing and started pushing her. Defendant repeatedly punched Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim thought the assault lasted approximately twenty minutes before she was able to leave the residence. Officers went to the house to find Defendant but he had fled by that time.
Officers searched nearby for Defendant but were unable to locate him. Victim was transported to the hospital for evaluation. She was subsequently diagnosed with a concussion, a zygomatic fracture, a mandibular fracture, possible nasal fractures, and bite marks on her face. Victim was to follow up with a surgeon after her swelling went down. Defendant has prior convictions on 09/27/22 for a felony domestic related Substantial Battery – Intend Bodily Harm and felony Strangulation and Suffocation in Pierce County, Wisconsin, file 2020CF000111, along with numerous felony convictions in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Defendant also has a pending felony case in Wisconsin for Battery and Threat to a Witness and prior fugitive from justice files. Given the nature of Victim’s injuries, the State has concerns for her safety and believes, given Defendant’s criminal history and that he fled the scene of the assault, that Defendant will not voluntarily appear for court. The State requests that this Complaint issue as a warrant and that Defendant be held until brought before the Court so that conditions of release may be addressed.
